More in store for Cornwall as £2.5m investment nears completionIssued:22/11/2007The first phase of a £2.5m private investment in 21st Century storage facilities for Cornwall is nearing completion. The development by Allstore on a three acre site north of Truro includes 30,000 square feet of warehousing for personal and business storage. The latest investment has been the £250,000 installation of a bespoke ?Lockshelf" archive document storage system, designed to enable clients to store and protect their company records and documents. It is the first such system to be used in Europe allowing businesses to securely self-store and retrieve documents. The installation follows Allstore?s ?1.3m investment in the land, strategically located close to the A30 on the A3075 between Chiverton Cross and Newquay. Allstore contracted specialists to install 225 individual storage rooms, ranging in size from 10 to 270 square feet, in the purpose built warehouses and commissioned a local security company to install CCTV and other security enhancements. Allstore is a family business operated by David Stephenson and his wife Ali. David?s background in providing transport and security for Governments, heads of state and high-profile celebrities together with Ali?s involvement in her own family owned businesses in mid Cornwall means they both have enviable skills in service excellence. David commented: ?This has been a substantial investment which provides a strategic resource for the county?s businesses, and yet has been made without recourse to any UK or European Public Funding. We are offering arguably the most secure and hi-tech storage facilities in the South West peninsula in a family-run environment.? Allstore?s facilities are used by a variety of businesses, from manufacturers to hold working materials in a palletised bulk storage warehouse, to professional services firms archiving and protecting records and documents to assisting retailers and e-commerce firms in the safekeeping of valuable stock. David continued: ?The investment of our life savings of more than ?2.5m demonstrates our commitment to this site and this business. As well as physical security, there is security for customers in knowing that we are in total control of our site, enabling a continued development of services and investment, to maintain our leadership role in the storage industry in Cornwall.? Allstore?s business clients are located throughout the length and breadth of the UK, while a significant proportion of the company?s self?storage customers use the facility for the storage of personal effects during a house sale or renovation. Allstore?s bulk storage facility can accommodate an extensive range of objects from boats, cars and caravans to machinery and complete shop fittings.
