Japanese electronics giant turns to Cornwall for supportIssued:23/10/2007One of the world's leading electronics companies has chosen a Cornish IT consultancy to provide hi-tech database software for its UK helpdesk. CIOS Ltd, based in St Austell, has developed a system which will allow Japanese company Funai to log customer phone calls and emails and respond rapidly to queries on its products. The database will hold details on Funai?s range of LCD TVs, hard drive recorders, DVD players and video recorders. The software will allow experts at its UK call centre to resolve faults and assist customers in using Funai?s technology. The database is a development of CIOS? off-the-peg SLA Helpdesk software, and has been designed to allow records on thousands of customers to be securely stored and quickly recalled. Previously Funai had outsourced its UK call centre operations, and partly as a result of CIOS? product, decided to bring its helpdesk in house. CIOS? Managing Director Justin Clarke said: ?Funai is one of the world?s biggest electronic companies and to have been chosen to provide their customer support software is an enormous coup for CIOS, and for Cornwall. Customers calling to log a fault or ask a question expect the helpdesk to have prompt access to their details and resolve their query quickly and fully. We are delighted to be playing our part in making that happen.? The software is web-based and will be held on servers operated by one of the world?s leading hosting companies, Rackspace. CIOS is the only Rackspace Premier Partner in Devon and Cornwall. The software was installed just three weeks after the order was confirmed and includes up to 75 pieces of information on each customer call. Although it can be updated remotely by CIOS, the database has been designed to allow Funai staff to add additional information such as new products, fault codes and retailers. Nilesh Mehta, Funai UK?s Technical Manager said: ?We are committed to providing excellent after-sales support for our customers, and we need high-performance software to do that. We provide the best for our customers, and demand the best from our suppliers. We?ve been impressed by the quality of the solution that CIOS has provided, and doubly impressed by the timescale in which it was delivered. ? As well as database solutions, CIOS also employs experts in website design and eyecatching graphic presentations. The company has 11 staff based in Cornwall and four in Milan with clients around the world. More information on the company can be found at the company?s new-look website, www.checkitout.co.uk, or by calling 01726 64685.
