Computer screensaver showcases Cornwall's beautyIssued:07/05/2007Some of Cornwall's most picturesque locations are featured on a new CD designed to showcase the beauty of the county. The CDs will give locally based people in Cornwall and holidaymakers a chance to bring the surrounding area to their computer. The CD, called ?Discover Cornwall? is used as a screensaver, which means its images will be displayed on a computer screen while it is not actively being used. Produced by Porthleven-based Digital Presentations, Discover Cornwall screensavers feature photographs from locations from every district of the county. The images have been taken by a number of Cornwall?s foremost photographers, set to atmospheric music composed by the county?s renowned and multi-talented musician, Medwyn Goodall. Mike Carter, Digital Presentations? founder said: ?These are hugely engaging and emotional images, and set to some fantastic, specially commissioned music. They are a superb showcase for the county?s culture, heritage and beauty. We anticipate that not only will they be fantastic keepsakes for visitors to the county, but will also let the people from Cornwall enjoy their surroundings in the home or office and also allow them to feel a sense of pride when they see the pictures.? Mike, who spent 15 years working in business finance and computer management before becoming a music teacher already has a track record in boosting the county?s tourism through his work on promotional brochures and websites. Medwyn Goodall from MG Music based in Helston, who has sold more than three million albums worldwide, and whose music is used on the CDs, said: ?The Discover Cornwall CDs truly bring the county to life. I hope they will be seen and heard by thousands of people who pass by computers in workplaces and homes where the Discover Cornwall screensaver is being used. They?re a great promotional tool for the county, and a superb souvenir of your stay.? The images used are of the highest quality and are viewable at screen sizes up to 42?. In many cases they have been supplied by district councils, as part of their efforts to boost tourism in Cornwall. Mike continued: ?The Discover Cornwall CDs are already being stocked at a number of locations in Cornwall, but we?re expecting them to be hugely popular, so if you have a gift shop, hotel, post office or tourist attraction, do get in touch to see how you can share in their success.? The Discover Cornwall CD is the first in a range of products being produced by Digital Presentations. The range will include Cornish DVDs for viewing on televisions or personal computers, with ?Storm Story?, about to be released. Digital Presentations is currently working with Peter Crumpler, a well-known Penzance based photographer, producing a collection of digital picture postcards entitled ?Discover Cornwall Collection?. These will be created for all areas in the county and will allow visitors to send friends and family a moving story of their stay and also allow locally based people a chance to see their county in pictures. The company also plans to offer bespoke presentations for tourist attractions and other businesses in the county. Later this year the products will be available to buy online.
