New bott South West vehicle enhancement centre helps reduce fleet downtime

New bott South West vehicle enhancement centre helps reduce fleet downtime ITM in-Vehicle Storage Solutions 2008 Award winner Bott Ltd has opened a new South West vehicle enhancement centre to run alongside its facilities in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire and Cumbernauld, Scotland.

The addition of the South West facility not only provides customers based in the region with a local vehicle enhancement service, but gives companies whose fleets are located UK-wide new opportunities to minimise costs and downtime.

By making use of the enhanced capacity and regional coverage offered by bott’s three enhancement centres - South West, Central and Scotland - fleet managers can have their vehicles converted at locations that correspond more closely to their fleets’ regional distribution.

In common with bott’s other UK enhancement centres, the new facility will offer a full range of vehicle enhancements, including everything from fitting modular and bespoke in-vehicle storage solutions, to installing crew facilities - such as seating and mini-kitchens - in maintenance contractors’ service vehicles, to converting vehicles into emergency services response units and CCTV surveillance vans.

The 260 square metre fitting facility in North Cornwall can accommodate up to seven 3.5 tonne vehicles simultaneously, with extensive secure parking for larger fleets of up to 120 vehicles.

The new centre will also apply vehicle graphics and be equipped to carry out complex electrical work, such as the installation of generators, compressors and inverters that allow in-vehicle equipment to run on 110v or 240v supply.

It is adjacent to bott’s 8,000 square metre factory which already makes much of the in-vehicle equipment fitted at the company’s Ashby and Cumbernauld facilities.

The factory also manufactures the company’s renowned range of workshop and industrial equipment.

bott's South West Production Resources Manager, Simon Willshire said: “bott originally set up a central location in the Midlands to fit in-vehicle storage equipment produced in Bude, Cornwall. As recognition and demand for our products has grown, a new installation centre to cover the South West is an obvious move. The new centre provides a complete facility for individual and fleet vehicles in the South West. Our location in the region minimises fleet downtime … a commercial vehicle in the South West can now be lined, equipped, liveried and back to base within 24 hours.”

bott is hosting open days at the new facility at Bude. To book a place, call 01288 357788 or email i-sales@bottltd.co.uk
