How we consult

For an optimum outcome, work should begin at masterplanning stage so the consultation strategy can consider macro issues such as the location and scale of the development.

Black Cat will carry out a contact audit of key organisations, opinion formers and influencers including media.

This will be supported by an opinions audit of potential challenges and opportunities the development may face from the community and its representatives.

These audits inform the consultation and communications strategy, including timescales and activities.

While every development is unique, a number of activities are common across many projects.

These include events such as exhibitions, media briefings, one to one meetings with key stakeholders, news releases and leaflet door drops.

Our considerable experience in communication, consultation and negotiation of this type can work to mitigate many of the initial challenges.

Responses and outcomes from these activities are collated, analysed, fed back to the client and, where required, will be incorporated into a Statement of Community Involvement.

Black Cats aim is to assist our clients in developing proposals which have demonstrable support from political, environmental, commercial and community representatives.
