Local company expands with new board member A Cornish recycling company has expanded its management team with the appointment of a former senior executive from Cornwall Enterprise.

Ben Menadue has joined Redruth-based The Electronic Waste Company as Systems Director following a period of rapid growth for the company.

Ben joins brothers Damian and Piers Lambkin on the board of the company, which collects, processes and prepares electronic and other types of waste for reuse or recycling.

Until last year, Cambridge graduate Ben was Business Development Manager at Cornwalls economic development agency, Cornwall Enterprise and since then has worked on a consultancy basis for The Electronic Waste Company.

His career has included community regeneration, IT, and the marine industry with a strong background in project and proposal development. At Cornwall Enterprise he worked on projects such as the Falmouth branch line rail improvements, Falmouth docks regeneration and transnational marketing projects with European partners.

Ben said, "The Electronic Waste Companys growth has been phenomenal and my role is to ensure that the processes and systems are in place to ensure that we continue to offer excellent customer service and profitability while we grow.

Bens consultancy work with the company led to it winning both the international ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates for quality and environmental management.

The Electronic Waste Company is currently the only business in the South West to operate a compliance scheme, which producers of electronic goods must join under a European law, known as the WEEE directive.

The company has won numerous awards, including accolades from the British Chambers of Commerce, the Cornwall Sustainability Awards and the Cornwall Business Awards.

Damian Lambkin Managing Director of The Electronic Waste Company said, "We are very excited about appointing Ben as he brings a strong background in working on large and successful projects and has already helped us to secure a really significant client. His customer-focused approach will be a great addition to an already strong management team.

The Electronic Waste Company works with a wide range of clients including hospitals, schools and businesses of all sizes to help them recycle their electronic waste and comply with the European WEEE regulations.
