South West tourism businesses are harnessing a new and inventive way of advertising their products using state-of-the-art electronic brochures.

The brochures, produced by Cornish company Digital Presentations have already led to bookings from Europe, America and Australia.

The DVD brochures for accommodation providers and tourist attractions include attractive images of the company, the South West landscape and nearby activities, supported with atmospheric music by Medwyn Goodall of MG Music. Medwyn?s music combined with outstanding images results in an emotional experience for the viewer.

The DVD can be displayed either on a standard PC or DVD player.

Samantha and Stuart Smith who own Beacon Crag in Porthleven used this technique to show their B&B accommodation, gardens, views and the surrounding area.

Sam said: ?Digital Presentations designed our new website and then made a DVD for us about our B&B and the surrounding area. We decided to use it instead of conventional printed brochures. Many people tend to like it more because they can play it on their home computer or DVD player attached to their television so the images are much larger creating a greater impact. As a result, we have taken bookings from European countries and from as far away as Australia. For our business it is a great way to not only show the B&B but to also the surrounding area and attractions.?

Another of Digital Presentations customers, Sue Davis, owner of the Copper Kettle B&B: said ?We belong to the British Tourism Board and also advertise with Porthleven?s original commercial web site but the DVD really brings our B&B and Porthleven alive. It turns potential customers into visitors because they experience what we have to offer whilst viewing the DVD in the comfort of their own homes in far off countries. When we first viewed our DVD on our large flat screen television we were immediately impressed and new this would be very attractive to anyone viewing. It has proven to be most successful.?

Some members of the Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project (CoaST) recently approached Digital Presentations with a request for the creation of a DVD containing all the tourist attractions within Cornwall.

Mike Carter, Digital Presentations' Founder said: "With the picturesque surroundings of Cornwall we expect this form of advertising to have massive potential and will become more and more popular as an efficient way to advertise especially as the concept of geo-tourism gathers pace.

At Digital Presentations we offer a new approach to advertising, advertising that turns potential visitors into actual visitors. From our customer feedback we know the DVD has been shown to their family and friends and the presentations are producing additional business for our customers.

We create entertaining DVDs for any tourist-based business and its surrounding location. The presentations are uniquely designed after full consultation with every customer."
